Can online education help the poor get out of poverty? Education has been and is a way out of poverty, especially for minority students. Students with a college degree have fared far better than those who either left school before graduation or earned only a high school diploma. But, Does online education help low-income students succeed? However, this review of the postsecondary literature on online learning strongly suggests that online coursework — at least as currently and typically implemented — may hinder progression for low-income and underprepared students.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of online education? Another advantage of online learning is reduced financial costs. Online education is far more affordable as compared to physical learning. This is because online learning eliminates the cost points of student transportation, student meals, and most importantly, real estate.
